2Bees Marketing International Womens Day Embracing Equity

International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on March 8th, and this year’s theme is ‘Embracing Equity.’ It is a day to celebrate women’s achievements, reflect on the challenges they face and discuss ways to close the gender gap and demand equality. As part of International Women’s Day, 2Bee’s Marketing, an all-encompassing marketing agency that specialises in strategy, is recognising the strong women it works with and highlighting other leading women in Marketing.

2Bee’s Marketing was founded by Sabah Sehgal, a marketer with over 16+ years of experience who started the company in the aftermath of Covid, the riskiest time to start such a venture. Despite being a full-time working mother of three, she took the leap and started living the life she had always dreamed about, where she is her own boss. The company is thriving, with a good roster of clients, growing employees’ list, and endless potential for new opportunities. Sabah is a shining example of a strong woman who has successfully balanced her career with family life and is an inspiration to women everywhere.

Josie Stevens, the Social Media Lead at 2Bees, is a mother and owner of her own company. Having worked in the fashion world for years, she finally launched her own clothing line, Seven Sundays, which incorporates both quality and chic style for the everyday woman. Josie’s addition to 2Bee’s has been a roaring success, and she brings much expertise to the social media strategy of 2Bee’s and its clients.

She is also a cancer survivor, having started her company ten years ago after having her cancer go into remission.

She has been referred to as the ‘Rolls-Royce’ of designers, alluding to her killer eye for design. As the digital world has changed, she has embraced the evolving technologies and continues to operate with confidence. Lynsey truly believes that it was the inspirational women she worked with that motivated her to start her own freelance design business.

She takes inspiration from powerful women in her life and fictional characters like Peggy from Mad Men. Falak recommends Virginia Woolf’s ‘A Room of One’s Own’ as mandatory reading for young girls to help them realize that we are still fighting social injustices today. She believes that change will come, albeit slowly, and has aspirations of owning her own company in the future.

Shamaila Ahmed, Marketing Communications Manager at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air Conditioning Ltd, has worked in the Sales and Marketing sector for over 14 years, primarily in the male-dominated engineering industry. She advocates for equal opportunities in the workforce, emphasising the importance of creating an environment where women are more accepted. Additionally, she values her home life and believes that women should not have to sacrifice their personal lives to succeed in their careers.

Jimisha Thakrar, currently heads up the SEO department at one of the UK’s biggest SEO agencies, Manning Gottlieb OMD, where she has worked for over 8 years in a fast-paced working environment. She is a true advocate of equal opportunities for all and believes that hard work should be rewarded regardless of gender. Despite her demanding work life, she also finds time to be a devoted mother to her two young daughters, raising them to be confident, empowered women who are unafraid to voice their opinions and stand up for their beliefs.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, let us embrace equity and strive to create a world where all genders are valued and appreciated equally. Let us recognise the strong women who have made a difference and continue to pave the way for future generations.
